How your love supports severely injured Veterans

Categories: Blog, Home

As a supporter, your love for our mission gives severely injured post-9/11 Veterans the foundation to move forward in their recovery and rebuild their lives.

Army Sergeant First Class Christopher Montera and his wife Vi received their specially adapted custom Homes For Our Troops home in 2017. Since then, they have focused on building their lives together and are enjoying life’s special moments. They got married not long after moving in and are now expecting twins. The wide doorways and open floor plan will enable Chris to tend to his children from his wheelchair whenever they need him. More than 210 babies have been born to HFOT families since 2010 and, according to a 2020 survey of our Veterans, the number of Veterans who are married increased from 57 to 78 percent.

“Our HFOT home is a beautiful place where Chris and I will be growing our family by two in May. It is a home where he feels safe and stable after working hard to recover from his injures,” says Vi.

Thank you for providing Veterans with this life-changing gift. Happy Valentine’s Day.
