Philanthropy
HFOT Vision: To enable every severely injured post-9/11 Veteran and their family to rebuild their lives.
Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) relies on the generosity of patriotic individuals to continue our mission of building and donating specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. As HFOT celebrates its 20th year of service, we wanted to honor and acknowledge those who have contributed significantly at our major gift level of $5,000 per year or more. We feel honored to partner with these donors and recognize them through the Circle of Honor.
Philanthropy and transformational gifts have been a large part of Homes For Our Troops’ success since 2004. From the beginning, HFOT has had the good fortune to partner with generous and patriotic individuals and families. These donors have helped HFOT build capacity, moving our operation from a start-up, building a couple of homes per year, to the well-regarded national organization we are today.
What is the Circle of Honor?
- Joining the Circle of Honor is simple. Giving anywhere from $5,000 annually up to transformational gifts of $1,000,000 or more, whether now, or as a part of your estate, allows Homes For Our Troops to continue the important work of serving those who have sacrificed for our nation. We are fortunate to partner with incredible donors, and honor their outstanding commitment to our Veterans.
- As a part of the Circle of Honor, you will have the knowledge that your contribution is making a lasting impact in the lives of our nation’s most severely injured post-9/11 Veterans and their spouses/caregivers.

Safeguarding your Investment
- HFOT offers a lifetime of assistance to Veterans and their families after home delivery, and a dedicated staff remains in close contact to support Veterans as they rebuild their lives.
- HFOT provides a pro-bono financial planner to each Veteran for a minimum of three years to assist in financial planning and household budgeting.
- HFOT places a 10-year lien on the home to protect the Veteran from leveraging and then losing the home to foreclosure. This also protects the donations that our supporters entrust to our care.
- Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent has gone directly toward our program services for Veterans.
- HFOT has been evaluated as one of America’s top-rated Veterans and Military charities.
- HFOT carefully manages our build schedule with our revenue flow to ensure we continue to build a home for every Veteran brought into our program.
The Circle of Honor: Life-Changing Impact
The concept of this group emerged in 2020 when Homes For Our Troops experienced a surge of support from its top contributors in response to the pandemic. During that challenging time, these donors provided incredible generosity and kindness to our Veterans which sustained our mission. Today, HFOT continues to see donations from this loyal group, and we are deeply grateful to them for serving as the cornerstone of our mission’s support. We are also excited to welcome new donors into our Circle of Honor each year. HFOT’s commitment is to build a specially adapted home for each deserving Veteran throughout the country. This commitment, as well as rising costs, have created the need to grow our base of support.
As we enter our twentieth year, HFOT’s Circle of Honor aims to recognize those donors who have consistently and generously ensured that HFOT has the funding to continue this mission for our remarkable Veterans. Thank you!
