SPC JAMES BENOIT

Wharton, NJ

Mission Accomplished on December 27, 2007

While serving with the 64th Military Police, CO 720th MP Battalion, in September 2005, Army Specialist James Benoit was severely injured by a roadside bomb attack in Iraq that left him paralyzed from the waist down with the long-term prognosis that he may never walk again without assistance.

SPC Benoit spent six months at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, undergoing 77 operations to repair wounds that he sustained. With a buildable lot that Jimmy purchased from the borough of Wharton, Homes For Our Troops, along with the efforts of the mayor and councilmen of the borough in which Jimmy grew up, worked with local donors, businesses and contractors to build Jimmy a home to meet his needs.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Benoit Family’s home a reality. Homes For Our Troops donated the home to Jimmy in December 2007.
