Cpl Eddie Ward

Inspired to carry on his family’s legacy of military service, Eddie Ward enlisted in the Army.

On May 1, 2011, during his first combat deployment, Corporal Ward was serving as an Indirect Fire Infantryman with the 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division in Afghanistan when he kneeled on a landmine. He sustained the loss of his right leg above the knee, hearing loss, tinnitus, and TBI.

Eddie was stabilized by the medic and then airlifted to Kandahar before returning stateside for additional surgeries and rehabilitation.

Originally from Texas, Eddie is choosing to remain in his home state.
