Mission Accomplished on March 13, 2010

In November 2007, Specialist Schulz was returning from a mission in Mosul, Iraq when his vehicle drove over an improvised explosive device (IED). He sustained the loss of his right leg above the knee, left leg below the knee, and severe damage to his hand.

He was medically evacuated to Landstuhl, Germany before returning stateside to Brooke Army Medical Center for additional treatment.

Jason and his wife, Lina, are the proud parents of two children. Jason is in his second year of welding school, and enjoys spending time with his family. A specially adapted custom HFOT home with a single-level, open layout gives Jason the freedom and independence to navigate safely both inside and outside using his wheelchair. The home also provides him with a safe environment to rest and recover.
