CPT Jason Pak

Fairfax, VA

In 2007, inspired by his family’s military service, Jason Pak was sworn in at West Point, receiving his commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery four years later.

On December 12, 2012, then Lieutenant Pak was serving as a fire support officer with the 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division in Panjwai, Afghanistan, when he stepped on a ten-pound pressure plate improvised explosive device (IED), resulting in the amputation of his right leg above the knee, left leg below the knee, and loss of two fingers on his left hand.

He was airlifted to Kandahar Airfield for immediate treatment before transferring to Landstuhl, Germany. Stateside, he spent more than a year at Walter Reed Medical Center undergoing additional surgeries and rehabilitation.

Jason works as a corporate affairs representative in the aerospace industry. He enjoys playing sports and staying active with his wife, Jeanhee. Although Jason maintains an active lifestyle, his current home lacks wheelchair accessibility. A specially adapted custom HFOT home will reduce daily stress and free up time for him. The single-level, open floor plan will enable Jason to use his wheelchair safely, minimizing the risk of further injury.

Originally from Virginia, Jason is choosing to remain in his home state.

Jason would like to express his profound gratitude to HFOT donors and supporters. “These specially adapted custom homes don’t just provide a place to live; they restore independence, dignity, and a sense of normalcy in our daily lives.”
