Mrs. New York and HFOT Advocate competes for Mrs. America crown on Saturday

Mrs. New York Patti Gomez is vying for the Mrs. America crown this weekend, but her mission goes beyond the pageant. Her main focus is bringing awareness and raising funds for Homes For Our Troops.

As a National Guard Veteran, Gomez knew from the start her platform would be Veteran related. She wanted to support a highly-rated organization with a tangible and long-lasting benefit, and HFOT fit the bill. “I wanted an organization whose core values aligned with my own and whose mission I could support wholeheartedly. Homes For Our Troops was the perfect fit in every way,” she says.

If crowned Mrs. America, Gomez’s goal is to continue supporting and advocating for HFOT. She has already attended and spoke at several HFOT events. “I hope to put a spotlight on the issues that our severely injured post-9/11 Veterans face and to educate the public on how they can be of service to those that have sacrificed so much in service to our country.”

The Mrs. America competition will be held this Saturday, Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. EST, click here to stream it live.
