SSG Lee Tom Jones
Mission Accomplished on Feb. 18, 2008
On Oct. 3, 2005, SSG Lee Tom Jones was on patrol with the 82nd Airborne 504th PIR when the vehicle he was riding in hit an improvised explosive device (IED). The blast caused the vehicle to flip over and catch fire. As a result of the explosion, Lee sustained severe burns to over 45 percent of his body, three strokes, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and lost feeling in his feet, which makes it difficult for him to walk. He is only able to go very short distances with a walking belt and assistance.
Homes For Our Troops built the Jones family a specially adapted home so Lee can enjoy the freedom he has fought so hard for.
