Celebrating America’s 250th: How to Honor Our Nation’s Veterans This Anniversary Year

Categories: Blog, Home
On July 4, 2026, the United States will commemorate the 250th anniversary of signing the Declaration of Independence. As our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, we are reminded that America’s story is one of resilience, innovation, and an enduring commitment to the ideals of freedom and opportunity. Those same values live on today, especially in the Servicemembers who defend our nation and protect those freedoms.

As America marks 250 years, organizations like Homes For Our Troops stand as powerful reminders that supporting our Veterans is not just an act of gratitude or charity—it’s our national duty.

Across the country, nearly 1,800 severely injured post-9/11 Veterans still need adapted homes. Many are still living in environments that are inaccessible and not suited for their injuries. Our goal is to provide a specially adapted custom home to every one of these Veterans.

These homes represent more than bricks and lumber—they restore freedom and independence.

America’s 250th anniversary is not just about looking back—it’s about moving forward. And supporting our Veterans plays a vital role in shaping that future. When a Veteran regains independence, they can pursue careers, grow their families, engage in their communities, and continue contributing to the nation they fought for. Our mission doesn’t simply build homes; it rebuilds lives.

Every action, no matter the size, helps us advance our critical mission of Building Homes and Rebuilding Lives.
