SPC Anthony Farve
Tucson, AZ
Inspired by his father’s military service, Anthony Farve enlisted in the Army in 2004.
On March 17, 2007, Specialist Farve was serving as an Infantryman with Charlie Company, 52nd Infantry Regiment3rd Brigade, 2d Infantry Division in Taliq, Iraq, when his vehicle was involved in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast. He suffered shoulder injuries, hearing loss, and severe injuries to his lower body, resulting in the amputation of his right leg below the knee.
He was airlifted to Baghdad for immediate treatment before transferring to Landstuhl, Germany. Stateside, he underwent additional surgery and rehabilitation at Walter Reed Medical Center.
Anthony enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah, and his two children, Anthony Jr and Naiya. He plays wheelchair basketball and enjoys hiking and camping with his family. In their current two-story home, Anthony is unable to access any of the bedrooms in his wheelchair.
A specially adapted custom HFOT home with a single-level, barrier-free layout will improve Anthony’s quality of life by providing comfort, accessibility, and peace of mind. The financial relief of a mortgage-free home will create greater stability for the family and allow them to spend more time together.
Originally from Washington State, Anthony is choosing to build his home in Arizona for the climate and lifestyle.
Anthony extends his deepest gratitude to HFOT donors and supporters. “People like you make me proud to be an American. You’ve stepped up and made a difference in the lives of so many Veterans. Thank you.”
