Andrew McMeel Syndication (AMS) has announced CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dilbert creator Scott Adams are auctioning off an original Dilbert comic as part of the Third Annual Homes For Our Troops Veterans Day Celebrity eBay Auction, Nov. 7-17, 2019.  Tapper will draw the comic for the week of September 23. Tapper’s original art, combined with Adams’ writing, will be signed by both, framed, and auctioned to support Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), an organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans.

A renowned correspondent for CNN, Jake Tapper is also an accomplished cartoonist and author. “Jake has one of the deepest talent stacks you will ever see. I love his original take on characters. I think he improved Dogbert,” says Adams.

“Dilbert is a modern classic and Scott’s characters are as timeless as they are hilarious. It’s an honor to guest-‘toon for him, and to do so to benefit Homes For Our Troops and make it worthwhile as well as fun,” says Tapper.

Tapper, a longtime HFOT support and mission ambassador, first teamed up in 2017 with celebrities and entertainment icons and hosted an online auction to benefit Homes For Our Troops. This charity auction, offered through eBay for Charity, gives shoppers the opportunity to bid on once-in-a-lifetime experiences and luxury items from various movie stars, musicians, and sports figures to help raise funds for HFOT’s worthy cause.

Dilbert, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2019, is enjoyed by readers of more than 2,000 newspapers worldwide. It is distributed by AMS, the largest independent newspaper feature syndicate in the U.S. AMS is a division of Andrews McMeel Universal, a creative media company based in Kansas City, Missouri, and home of iconic comics such as Calvin and Hobbes, Doonesbury, Peanuts, The Far Side®, Garfield, and contemporary favorites Sarah’s Scribbles, Breaking Cat News, and Phoebe and Her Unicorn. Other divisions include a global publishing house, Andrews McMeel Publishing, and Andrews McMeel Entertainment, the film and television division.

Bidding for the auction will begin on Thursday, Nov. 7, at www.ebay.com/hfot.
