SSG CHARLES ISAACSON

Sun Prairie, WI

Mission Accomplished on Jan. 27, 2009

Army Staff Sergeant Charles Isaacson was injured on February 18, 2007. He was on his eighth tour overseas and only five days away from coming home when his helicopter crashed in Southern Afghanistan. Eight of the 22 passengers did not survive the crash. Chuck sustained two collapsed lungs, broken ribs, a broken leg, a broken neck, burst and compression fractures that left him paralyzed from the chest down.

Since the helicopter crash, Chuck has undergone three surgeries and several months of both inpatient and outpatient therapy. Chuck is still continuing therapy and has regained some movement. He and his wife Brenda are very hopeful that he will someday be able to stand and walk.

Homes For Our Troops is proud to have presented a home to Charles Isaacson on Jan. 27, 2009.
