CPL JONATHAN BARTLETT

Chesapeake, VA

Mission Accomplished on March 31, 2010

On April 17, 2012 the world lost another American hero. Our deepest sympathies go out to the family of Jonathan Bartlett. Rest in Peace Jonathan, it was an honor to know you and we will never forget you.

Jonathan’s platoon was attached to a unit conducting civil-military relations in a village outside Fallujah that had agreed to banish terrorists in exchange for assistance. As they were leaving the village, an IED exploded under his gun-truck.

The three other passengers in the vehicle sustained minor injuries; however, Jonathan was not as fortunate. The blast riddled his body with shrapnel and forced the amputation of one leg above and one below the knee. Tidewater Builders Association and Tidewater Modular Homes partnered with Homes For Our Troops to provide Jonathan a specially adapted home.
