SSG CHRISTIAN BAGGE

Parkdale, OR

Mission Accomplished on February 5, 2011

On June 3, 2005, Army Staff Sergeant Christian Bagge was serving in Iraq when he was severely injured, just south of Kirkuk. During a routine road-clearing mission about 100 miles north of Baghdad, SSG Bagge’s vehicle drove over an improvised explosive device (IED).

Before receiving his specially adapted custom home, Christian was living in a home that was not wheelchair accessible. All the bedrooms were upstairs and the doorways were not large enough to accommodate a wheelchair. As Christian says, “If your home is not accessible, it can quickly become a prison.

Thank you to everyone who supported this project. Without people like you, none of this would have been possible. Christian enjoys spending time with his two children and he now works part-time for the county sheriff department.
